Values Clarification for Total Recovery
6546
In this course, counselors learn how to help their alcohol and substance abuse clients in the recovery process.
Your Price: $40.00

Detailed Description

The underlying assumption of this 10-hour home study course is that chemically dependent people can change their value system, and that making appropriate changes in values can increase their chances of enjoying long-term sobriety and help them avoid relapse.

Sponsored by Transformations Enterprises, this course teaches counselors how to help alcohol and substance abuse clients identify and clarify their values; select and internalize new, more positive values; and help them prioritize their values in a way that will more effectively support their recovery.

At the end of the course, counselors will be able to effectively:

  1. Help alcoholics and substance abusers identify and clarify specific values that keep them from fully accessing treatment and obtaining long-term recovery
  2. Help clients identify and focus on values that will support the recovery process
  3. Help clients prioritize their values hierarchy in a way that will lead to long-term recovery and help them avoid relapsing back into active chemical use
How to Complete the Course: Finish at your own pace!
  1. Read the manual; complete the exercises and open-book exam.
  2. Introduce the material to your clients, and document application of the skills with one client.*
  3. Send completed materials to Transformations Enterprises.
  4. Transformations Enterprises reviews your materials immediately upon receipt, and sends your certificate by return mail, usually the next day.
* If you are not currently working with clients, you may document application of the skills with a friend or colleague.
