Detailed Description
Most people list the obvious skills they have aquired on the job, like being able to use a computer, knowledge of a particular area such as accounting or construction, and the physical skills they have to do a job. But people tend to overlook some of their other important skills - those skills they perform on a daily basis, without thinking about it.
Many of these skills actually have been acquired by activities outside the workplace, but they are skills that can be transferred into the job. This video focuses on these skills - these "transferable skills."
Transferable skills are those skills you've acquired, both on and off the job, which can be transferred - or used - in your current job, in another job, or in a situation outside the workplace. Knowing your skills, ALL of your skills, can give you the edge you may need in order to get the job you want. Available only in VHS format. 20 minutes. 2003.
