USING THE INTERNET IN A JOB SEARCH
In the November 2004 issue of The Washingtonian, Ron Krannich, president of Impact Publications, is quoted in an article on using the Internet in one's job search:
"...Don't linger too long [on the Internet]," says Ron Krannich, coauthor of America's Top Internet Job Sites. With an estimated 25,000 sites providing career information, it is easy to waste time online. Krannich recommends spending no more than 20 percent of job-search time on the Internet and only a fraction of that at employment sites.
"Bigger companies are moving away from those sites," Krannich says. "Lots of companies have their own sites and ways to submit resumes."
If you still want to roll the dice with an online job search, Krannich says quantity counts - so submit a lot of resumes on different sites.
