It has been adapted from the adult Matrix Model, which was recognized as effective in one of the largest randomized clinical trials for meth treatment to date.

The teen Matrix Model, at the six-month follow-up compared to intake, showed:

• significant reductions in the number of days of reported alcohol and drug use
  
• over 70 percent of clients reported no alcohol use, and 75 percent reported no drug use
  
• improvements in such areas as drug use, family relationships, peer/social relationships, and psychiatric status
