Detailed Description
Anyone who has been in prison for the past few years may feel as though the world has passed them by. Thus, when they are first released into the outside world, life can be a challenge.
Every day tasks that are difficult for non-offenders can be doubly tough for someone just getting out of prison. There are many obstacles to overcome, and ex-offenders may think that becoming successful is nothing more than just a dream. They're wrong!
In this program viewers will meet four ex-offenders who have made great progress in their personal lives. They share their stories about their first experiences after release, overcoming barriers such as transportation and finding employment, and dealing with the pressures of society. They also talk about the importance of developing positive relationships and the role families can play in their lives.
In addition, viewers drop in on a group discussion of ex-offenders and hear some of the things they have done to turn their lives around. These stories in this program will help viewers better understand what truly awaits them after their incarceration, and what they can do to stay out of prison and "live free." Approximately 31 minutes. In English, with English-language subtitles. 2006.
