At the end of the course, counselors will able to effectively:

  2. Effectively reduce their fear when confronting angry clients.
  3. Increase their feelings of self-empowerment, knowing they are in better control of potentially threatening situations.
The content of the course includes:
  1. How counselors will benefit from the anger-defusing technique
  2. How clients will benefit
  3. A working definition of anger
  4. The physical characteristics of anger
  5. The six steps of the technique
  6. How to utilize matching, pacing, and leading to defuse angry clients
  7. How to effectively deal with their own anger when using the defusing technique with angry clients
  8. How to use the defusing technique with clients over the telephone
How to Complete the Course: Finish at your own pace!
  1. Read the manual and complete the open-book exam.
  2. Document application of the skills through role play with a colleague, and with 5 clients.*
  3. Send completed materials to Transformations Enterprises.
