Frances Bolles Haynes
"A special interest in career development"
Frances Haynes has worked in the field of career development for over 20 years. She began her career running job assistance programs for the city of Phoenix, Arizona. She later moved to Jackson, Mississippi, to run a "Job Club," based on the model pioneered by Nathan Azrin. The program's success rate reflected the intense and comprehensive design of the program, which allowed job seekers to work eight hours a day to find employment. Over 65% of all participants found jobs within the one-month period of the training sessions.
She worked for many years with Richard N. Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute?, in his Walnut Creek, California, office of the National Career Development Project. She helped provide counsel and guidance to the hundreds of people who wrote to the Project each year with career questions, and for seven years she was a member of the workshop training staff.
For the last 10 years Frances has worked with Daniel Porot, Europe's leading career expert, and they have co-authored four books for the American audience: Best Answers to 202 Job Interview Questions (2008), Winning Letters That Overcome Barriers to Employment (2006), 101 Toughest Interview Questions...and Answers That Win the Job (1999), and 101 Salary Secrets: How to Negotiate Like a Pro (2001).
For four years Frances and Daniel wrote a weekly column for The Wall Street Journal, responding to career questions posed by readers and offering career advice to readers of the Career Journal discussion boards.
Daniel and Frances's website is www.careergames.com. It offers numerous free games and quizzes, designed to help the job hunter master the tools and strategies needed for a successful job hunt.
