Detailed Description
This game teaches children anger management skills. Designed with the needs of busy counselors in mind, the game can be played in just 15 minutes.
Players try to escape from Anger Island (and a pursuing dinosaur) by learning one of six anger management techniques:
- Deep breathing
- Knowing your "hot" buttons
- Self-talk
- Problem-solving
- How to reduce stress
- Talking about your feelings
Each skill is represented by a different island where players have to land to win a reward.
One skill can be taught in each 15-minute counseling session, and activities are suggested for practice between sessions. Counselors can track each child's progress with an Anger Management Checklist.
Kids can play the game repeatedly to learn all six skills. Suitable for Grades 1-5 (ages 6-10). 2007.
