Detailed Description
This game teaches young people how to navigate the dangerous waters of the Internet, including wireless devices such as cell phones, PDAs, and MP3 players. Learning objectives include:
- The dangers of predators on the Internet and steps to take to stay safe.
- How to deal with the epidemic of online bullying
- Scams and how to avoid them
- How to avoid worms, viruses, and unwanted age-inappropriate materials
- How the dangers of the Internet has spread to wireless devices
- How to be a good Internet citizen and practice pro-social skills and good "netiquette"
The game board represents cyberspace. Various icons represent search, spam, chat, cell phones, and other aspects of cyberlife.
For students in grades 3 to 7, and can also be used as high-interest material for special-education students and those who are less savvy than their peers about the Internet and its dangers.
